WOMEN & CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Across the U.S., women—particularly women of color and survivors of abuse—are often incarcerated for defending themselves or their children against violence. This conversation brings together survivors, advocates, and reformers to examine the flaws in self-defense laws and sentencing, and to explore how the justice system can evolve to recognize and respond to the realities of trauma.
