UJC Student State Ambassador Program

Through the UJC Summit Student State Ambassador program, a 10-week internship for college credit at Roc Nation’s headquarters, students from across the nation are supported and challenged to develop state-specific strategies and create action plans to generate greater awareness about the UJC Summit.

Through various meetings with social justice and industry leaders, individual guidance and collaborative sharing, UJC Student State Ambassadors gain insights and tools to reach out to multiple stakeholders including student and community leaders, elected officials, and nonprofit, public and private sector professionals. They also help to shape and refine the UJC Summit’s program content to further engage student voices and inspire them to Activate for Change.

Meet our Fall 2023 UJC Student State Ambassadors

  • I became a UJC Ambassador after a personal health scare opened my eyes to the inequities in health that are avoidable, unnecessary and unjust. Many people cannot receive the necessary medical and mental healthcare they need because of economic disparities. As a UJC Ambassador, I want to use my voice to advocate for this cause.

  • I chose to become a UJC Ambassador because of my passion for teamwork, justice and community. As an African American woman of Ghanaian descent, everyday I yearn to be someone who serves others. Through my service I want to bridge the gap between my community and the work that needs to be done. Being a part of this program has inspired me to tackle the social injustices in our communities and to give back to the best of my ability.

  • As an international student who lived in multiple big cities, I became an ambassador in hopes of increasing equal opportunities and promoting social justice in communities of different backgrounds. I hope to use my passion in analytics and music to help the UJC make an impact. Through this opportunity I want to meet new people who are just as passionate about philanthropy and social justice work as the Roc Nation and United Justice Coalition teams are.

  • I wanted to be a UJC Ambassador because I believe that the intersection of social justice and architecture encourages a more inclusive built environment in regards to zoning, urban planning, building design, and communities where people live.

  • As a returning UJC ambassador, I found myself reflecting on the experience that I had during the summer. The topic of social justice has become a guiding force in my life for as long as I could remember. I am 100% fully committed to the growth of the UJC, and returning as an ambassador is another testament to my passion for creating a more just society. I am beyond grateful for Roc Nation and the UJC for providing me with such a unique opportunity.

  • I became a UJC Ambassador because living in various countries has allowed me to observe different ways states/countries deal with social injustices and that has highlighted the importance of educating others about issues such as race, gender, and criminal justice. I am excited to be a part of a leading entertainment company that is working diligently to impact communities and is committed to humanitarianism.

  • As a Justice Studies major, I am very passionate about social justice and the criminal justice system. I joined the UJC Ambassador program because I want to mend the many flaws the criminal legal system harbors through advocacy. Being a UJC Ambassador allows me to do just that, whilst creating relationships with individuals who also share my same principles.

  • The UJC Summit’s mission of uniting people to effect tangible social change resonates deeply with me. I wanted to be a UJC Ambassador to continue my unwavering commitment to advancing social justice and empowering voices that matter.

  • As a third generation civil rights activist, being a part of this program feels like home. It combines my passion for sports and entertainment and my desire to be an advocate for social justice causes that matter most to me. I am excited about the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals towards a common goal of an equitable and just society.

  • I became an ambassador in order to strengthen my network of individuals that are interested in social justice, assist with outreach efforts, and to contribute to the coordination of the conference. Having attended the Inaugural UJC Summit in 2022, I have witnessed firsthand the impact this convention has on moving the needle forward in regards to the issues I am most passionate about and am looking forward to playing a role in the success of the 2023 UJC Summit.

  • I wanted to be a UJC Ambassador because I am passionate about making the world a better place and I believe that being a part of the UJC Summit will give me the platform and the hands-on experience to do so. Being a UJC Ambassador is the perfect fit for me because I enjoy hearing about the social justice issues others are passionate about. Researching different social justice issues across the nation and what is affecting different communities most right now has really opened my eyes to the work there is to be done and how I can contribute to being a part of the solution.

  • My desire to make a difference in this world is one of the many things that brought me here to the United Justice Coalition. Even if making a difference would only mean igniting the flame that changes everything, that would be more than enough assurance that I’d have completed my mission for social change. I am looking forward to igniting that flame alongside my fellow UJC Ambassadors

  • Growing up in a military family, I had many experiences with diplomats and ambassadors from across the world. I look back on my childhood and realize how these experiences influenced my passion for social justice, especially as it relates to LGBTQ+ communities. Furthermore, when I read digital marketing, promotions, and social justice in the job description for UJC Ambassadors, I immediately applied. Becoming an ambassador combines two topics I love: Social Justice and Marketing.

  • As an HBCU alumni from Hampton University, and a law student at St. John’s University, participating in the 2023 UJC Student State Ambassador Program will allow me to share the UJC’s mission and encourage students in New York City and beyond to use their voices to inspire others and advocate for change.

  • My passion about being a voice for my community and being actively engaged in moving initiatives such as Women’s Rights, Criminal Justice Reforms, and Student Financial Aid Advocacy is important to me. The United Justice Coalition gives me the platform and various strategic resources to unify communities as well amplifies my ambitions to be an aspiring social justice issues leader. These motives are what drove me to become a UJC ambassador and an active member of the Roc Nation team.

  • I felt moved to be a part of the UJC Summit because I am passionate about racial equality. The importance of spreading awareness within our communities and bridging the gaps between other communities is imperative and I'm eager to do so alongside a great team here at the United Justice Coalition.

  • I wanted to be a UJC Ambassador because I believe that social justice and equity amongst our communities is crucial to the foundation of a brighter future. Creating an awareness for social justice causes amongst ourselves is the first step in correcting our past wrongdoings, and with that awareness we can collaborate on ideas to help bring change to the world around us. Getting to speak about social justice issues and learning more about them is a privilege that not everyone in the world has; We must take advantage of the opportunity to advocate for meaningful change. As a UJC Ambassador I realize the importance of my role as a young changemaker. Alongside my fellow UJC Ambassadors, I know that I am not alone and that we can truly make a difference in our communities and beyond.

  • I decided to become a UJC ambassador because of my strong commitment to advocating for equality and justice. Joining this coalition provides me with an opportunity to actively participate in important conversations and initiatives aimed at creating a more equitable world. I believe that our actions, however small they may seem, can collectively make a significant impact in shaping a fairer and more just society. By joining this coalition, I not only engage in essential conversations surrounding social justice but also actively contribute to initiatives that address the pressing issues we face today.

  • I wanted to become a UJC Ambassador because I am deeply passionate about social justice, human rights, and sustainability. Through this opportunity, I am most excited to learn more about social justice initiatives, connect with diverse students, and find opportunities to elevate voices in my community.

  • As a returning Student State Ambassador for the Fall of 2023, I reflect back fondly on my transformative summer experience. This opportunity has not only deepened my passion for social justice but also ignited a newfound sense of determination to finish what we’ve started. I'm eagerly looking forward to the fall term, where we'll bring our collective vision to life and make a meaningful impact on the issues we're most passionate about. Together, we'll continue to be the change we wish to see in the world.

  • Supervising the Summer cohort of UJC Ambassadors was an incredible privilege. I am looking forward to watching the Fall cohort of UJC Ambassadors continue to engage youth and student voices from across the country. With their diverse perspectives and their range of unique talents, I know they will play a vital role in making the 2023 UJC Summit a successful gathering of minds and a place for all voices to activate for change.

  • I am both honored and excited to have the opportunity to guide and lead our UJC Ambassadors in their initiatives and projects this Fall Semester. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have been involved in efforts to expand social responsibility and community engagement through service projects, content creation, and so much more. Minoring in Black and Latin studies taught me to think critically about the intersectionalities of social justice and our ability to bring awareness into the spaces we occupy. I believe in empowering student leaders and advocating for causes that align with my values.
